We are advancing the state of the art in antennas, circuits and systems to meet the technological demand for broadband, ubiquitous, person-to-person and machine-to-machine wireless communications. We are also investigating microwave/millimeter-wave sensors for materials characterization and for microbiology. Our research encompasses the following areas:
  • antennas
  • sensors
  • millimeter-wave circuits and systems
  • digitally-assisted RF circuits
Our laboratory in Walter Light Hall is equipped for design, fabrication and testing of antennas and millimeter-wave circuits. We have agreements with semiconductor companies through CMC Microsystems and with government labs such as the National Research Council of Canada and IHP Microelectronics for fabrication of integrated circuits through multi-project wafer (MPW) runs using CMOS, silicon germanium (SiGe) BiCMOS and gallium nitride (GaN) HFET processes.
